Mosio is a messaging service specifically tailored for REDCap users, allowing for automated survey invites, alerts, and survey invitations via SMS/text messaging. Mosio is available for project teams through a monthly subscription model. For more information about the subscription plans and how to get an account, please read Getting a Mosio Account.
This article will provide you with an overview of how to configure the auto responder. The auto responder is made available to all Mosio accounts with at least a Basic plan.
The Auto Responder functionality in Mosio allows you to designate a default message that will be sent to participants if they reply to an SMS message sent via Mosio at a defined time/day of the week, or even a specific date. This can be incredibly useful for project teams who may wish to convey information to participants during off-hours or holidays.
After logging in to your Mosio account and accessing your project dashboard, click on the "Tools" dropdown menu, and select "Auto Responders"
On the new page, you will be able see a few different options - to start, let's focus on the default Auto Responder. This message with the default configuration, a stock message will be sent to participants any time they respond to an SMS message from this Mosio project.
In order to update this text, you would click on the textbox, clear the existing message, and type in your preferred auto response message. After you have updated the text, click the green "Update" button to apply these changes.
If you would like to control when auto-replies send, you can also manage this by using the "Start Time:" and "End Time:" drop downs.
Updating these values will also alter the graph that appears below the area where you configure your auto responses. Green indicates that messages will be sent during the given times.
You may also use the provided checkboxes to determine days of the week you wish auto responses to be sent.
Clicking the "Add Auto Responder" button will provide you with another box where you can define more auto responses for different times - see below for a quick example
You may also enable Holiday Auto Responders. To start, click on the green "Add Holiday Auto Responder" button.
This will generate three fields for you to fill out.
Clicking on the blank "Start Time:" box will trigger a pop-up menu where you can select a date and time for your auto responder to begin setting this up.
After selecting a date, you will be prompted to select an hour.
After the hour has selected, you will then choose the minutes.
Repeat this process for your "End Time:" and enter a message for your auto response before hitting green "Update" button to finalize the setup.
