Mosio is a messaging service specifically tailored for REDCap users, allowing for automated survey invites, alerts, and survey invitations via SMS/text messaging. Mosio is available for project teams through a monthly subscription model. For more information about the subscription plans and how to get an account, please read Getting a Mosio Account.
This article will cover how to set an invitation preference field for the "Control each participant's invitation preference using a multiple choice field" step in your initial Mosio settings in REDCap. If you haven't yet, please start Mosio Settings in REDCap before continuing with this article.
1. From any page of the project, click on the "Designer" hyperlink on your left-hand sidebar, underneath the "Project Home and Design" heading.
2. From the designer, click on the name of the instrument you would like to add the invitation preference field to
3. Click the "Add Field" button where you would like to place the field
4. In the new pop-up window, click on the "Field Type:" dropdown menu
5. Select either "Multiple Choice - Drop-down List (Single Answer)" or "Multiple Choice - Radio Buttons (Single Answer)"
6. Enter a field label and a variable name
7. Define your response options with the following raw values (the text before the comma):
EMAIL, -Your value label-
SMS_INVITE_WEB, -Your value label-
NOTE: Your value labels do not have to match the ones provided in the example above, but the raw values must be exact (including capitalization).
8. After your response options have been defined, click the "Save" button in the current window
After this field is created, you can select it from the dropdown, and this will now act as your project's preference field.
