The Record Status Dashboard offers a broad overview of the status of form completion across records and events. Users can access the standard record status dashboard or create custom dashboards.
Jump to:
By default, your project will possess the standard record status dashboard. You can navigate to the dashboard under "Data Collection" on your left-hand panel.
Default Record Status Dashboards
From the Record Status Dashboard, you can view all of your records and the status of their forms.
Selecting any of the record status bubbles would take you to that form for the corresponding record. Please note the disclaimer in REDCap that the user permissions established by your project manager may impact the view of your dashboard.
You have a few default filters on this page.
Data Access Group (DAG) - If you have multiple sites or groups in DAGs, it may be useful to view a list of records belonging to a specific DAG.
Records per page - You can control the number of records viewed on each page. If your project is or has the potential to be very large, we recommend setting this dropdown. It will save the next time you return the dashboard and will reduce the loading burden of the dashboard.
Pages - If there are enough records for multiple pages, select which page to view.
Custom Record Status Dashboards
Custom dashboards can help teams stay organized and reduce loading burden on projects.
From your default dashboard, select "Create custom dashboard".
The display will extend with a new box, pictured below:
Dashboard title - The name that will be displayed in the dashboard dropdown on the main page.
Description / instructions - These will be displayed at the top of the page when the custom dashboard is selected.
Header orientation - You can save some horizontal area on the webpage by selecting "Vertical", if it is your preferred view. Here is an example of "Vertical" header orientation.
Select instruments - You can reduce the number of instruments displayed on the dashboard to what is appropriate for the custom purpose. This reduces columns on your dashboard.
Filter logic - Apply the relevant logic here to reduce rows on your dashboard. It is the same logic style used elsewhere in REDCap.
Sort by - Choose a field and condition to sort your order of records by.
Example
My example project team includes a few counselors that are assigned to an individual or couple. I want a specific dashboard where the counselor can view only the participants assigned to them and review their form.
Dashboard title: Counselor 1
Description/Instructions: Participants assigned to Counselor 1
Select instruments: The form that I want the counselors to review
Filter logic: The first response choice to the [assigned_counselor] field has been selected.
Now, my custom dashboard is selectable in the "Dashboard displayed" dropdown.
