The file repository is a dedicated space in your project where you can store and share files pertaining to your project.
The repository will be accessible in your project by default as long as you have the appropriate permissions on the project. If you do not see the File Repository and you will need access to it, please contact your project manager to modify your permissions on the project.

Accessing the File Repository
The file repository can be found on the left-hand panel of your project under "Applications".
Automatic Uploads to the File Repository
There are a few file types that will be routed to save to your file repository automatically.
Data export files -
When you export a file from the "Data Exports, Reports, and Stats" page, a copy of the export will be saved under the default "Data Export Files" folder in the File Repository.
PDF Snapshots set to save to the File Repository -
See the PDF Snapshots article for more information. Additionally, consents configured with the e-Consent Framework will be automatically set to save PDF Snapshots to the File Repository.
Manually Uploading to the File Repository
If you would like to put the file in a custom folder, first create a new folder.
If you would like your uploaded file to be placed in a folder, open up that folder before you complete the upload.
Click the "Select files to upload" button.
In the pop-up window, select your file and then "Open".
The file now exists in the File Repository. If your file does not appear, try refreshing the page.
Sending Secure Files in the File Repository
To send secure files, you will use REDCap Send-It from within the File Repository.
Locate the file you would like to securely share and locate the "Share" button.
You will see the following pop-up:
Finally, in a new pop-up window, REDCap Send-It will open with your file already attached.
From here, you can add the recipient emails, a subject line, an email body/message, set the expiration for when access should expire, and select whether you would like to receive a confirmation when recipients download the file.
When you are finished, select "Send It!"
The page will load briefly, and as long as the send was successful, you will receive a success message:
Note: The maximum file size to be sent via Send-It is 100MB. If your file exceeds this limit, the send will not be successful.
